The numbers on SoM aren't scrambled at random, they are
always by a whole number of percentages. i.e. if you have 20k defense, it can
show up as 20200, 20800, 22400 but not 21300. If you have two to compare, you
can then usually calculate which is the right value. If you have CB and SoM,
you can do the same for troop amounts and derive defense that way. A number of
translators do that for you, as a general rule of thumb (assuming of course
your enemy has elites out) a SoM+SoM translation is more accurate than using
Angel’s SOM translation.
Method 1 : Using an Additional Program - Valerarren's
SOM translator |
1)
Download it by clicking here 2)
Run the program 3)
SoM twice, noting down "Net defensive points at home" on each 4)
Input the values and you get a result 5)
If you get more than one result, you need additional intel in order to
eliminate the wrong options |
Method 2 : Using an External Website/ Warbots |
Link: http://alliancerankings.com/som.php 1)
CB Generally not needed unless target province has 0 elites 2)
Take a SOM with 8 thieves and enter into top format field, and click
Read SOM #1 3)
Take a second SOM with also 8 thieves, and copy into second format field
and click Read SOM #2 4)
Leave settings, and click Compute 5)
The website should return the exact defence value left behind 6)
If you get more than one result, take another SOM and input it into SOM
#3 7)
Do step 6 if you get no results as well, you may have to play around
with different SOM figures. Always ensure that SOMs are taken in the same
tick To use a warbot, most accept the formats !som [defence figure 1]
[defence figure 2] and will translate it for you |
Method 3 : Using Angel’s SOM
Calculator |
1)
Copy enemy kingdom page into Angel 2)
Copy target province CB into Angel 3)
Copy a SOM into angel 4)
Angel automatically translates the SOM for you |
